OHIP-Covered Counselling & Mental Healthcare
Congratulations on taking the first step toward better mental health
Keystone Counselling provides exceptional OHIP-covered mental healthcare and counselling to individuals, couples, families, and groups.
Benefits of having a physician as your therapist
Dr. Armaghan Nematullah is trained, qualified, and experienced as both a family doctor and a psychotherapist. This puts him in the unique position to be able to employ a more holistic, comprehensive approach to your and your family’s mental healthcare, including:
providing OHIP-covered psychotherapy and counselling services without the need for patients to pay out of pocket or use their private insurance benefits
ordering diagnostic tests like bloodwork and imaging, where indicated
sending referrals to specialists and other community mental healthcare supports
prescribing medication, where indicated
completing and certifying forms and paperwork for government benefits applications, insurance benefits applications, mental health-related WSIB claims, and more (patients will be responsible for payment when OHIP does not cover the cost)
we STARTED OFF as a small family medicine clinic
Keystone Medical Family Clinic first opened its doors in 2016. We served a small community of patients out of Brampton, Ontario and came to realize over time that our patients needed more than just medical advice; they desperately needed mental health support. This need became even more pronounced since the COVID-19 pandemic.
Dr. Nematullah has always taken a special interest in mental healthcare and counselling. After appreciating the great need for OHIP-covered psychotherapy within his small family practice, he began pursuing specialized training in mental healthcare and shifted the focus of his practice. He is now officially recognized by the Ontario Ministry of Health as a GP focused in the practice of Psychotherapy.
We are a hybrid virtual & In-person Practice
Keystone Counselling operates under a hybrid model of care: Dr. Nematullah provides OHIP-covered mental healthcare and psychotherapy to patients both in-person (at his office in London, Ontario) and virtually across the entire province of Ontario. If you are unable to meet with Dr. Nematullah for an in-person intake appointment, your primary healthcare provider (family doctor or nurse practitioner) can fax us a referral using our required referral form. You can download our referral form using the “REFERRAL FORM” button below.
Because of our unique practice setup, all patient communication and medical record management is done virtually through the Cortico platform. Cortico is secure and encrypted and has been approved and recognized by Ontario Health on their list of Verified Virtual Visit Solutions. Cortico is a Canadian company with headquarters and servers exclusively in Canada; we are highly commited to, and concerned with, protecting your privacy.
Since we do not have a business telephone number, all patients are expected to self-manage their appointments using the Cortico platform. Cortico is a robust platform which allows patients to:
book, change, and cancel appointments (according to our policies)
connect to secure video appointments with Dr. Nematullah
securely send and receive messages to/from administrative staff
access the platform via web browser (no mobile app available)
